Solar
Heat Dabblings will be chronicled here.

CandlePower | After
our ice storm, and our inadequate setup in case of emergencies, I'd
have to say that you need things other than solar... and electricity.
There's an interesting invention that uses one candle and
puts
out about 50btu/hr - enough to heat a small room. Heatstick
has no moving parts, is made of earth friendly materials, and can be
bought or made by almost anyone. In fact, a set of six of
these
in a fireplace with a piece of aluminum flashing behind it to channel
the heat out into the room could essentially add about 300btu/hr into a
room. These are candles, therefore should never be left
unattended. Furthermore, a set of several of these could increase the
heat enough to melt away the candles in a hot paraffin flood, making
quite a mess of any place they're set. Be sure to have
adequate
safeguards in place and once again, never leave them
unattended!.
More to follow if I can get my website to work properly. |

Found this site:
Rotarica that claims to have a solar powered air
conditioner being readied for production. Treehugger
and Cool Green
Gadgets have written about this great idea.
